i found something
Itr would help to have more info on the type of harp but I think the
inscription has been mistranscribed.
F Grosjean was a harp maker in Soho square active between about 1810 and
1835. For the latter part he woked in conjunction with Schweiso and to a
certain extent with Groll (who patented a double action fourchette
mechanism the year *before* Erard!)
I would suggest that 1946 is actually the serial no rather than a date...I
don't know of any maker who dated the harp on the mechanism plate.
If the harp is of the Grecian variety (43 or 44 strings with a half circle
of winged maidens around the capital) this would certainly fit.

i found this on the internet
I will be moving to Lithuania in a week, expecting to stay for about a year.
When my landlords there found out that I was a harpist, they asked me to
look for information about restoring an old harp that is very important to
Lithuanians. What follows is a description that was sent to me a few days
ago. I would appreciate receiving information or hints as to how to go about
looking for help in this area.
The Lithuanian writer, philosopher, stimulator of national spirit, Vydunas
(true name Vilhemas Storosta) was born in 1868 in Lithuania and died in 1953
in Detmold Germany. He had a great interest in Eastern philosophy and wrote
many articles and books on healthy living and thinking. His most fvored
theme was the superior spiritual aspiration. Vydunas wrote music, conducted
a chorus and with the help of music and his deep philosophical perception
did his best to awaken national self awareness in the Lithuanian people. He
resided in the city of Tilze (Karaliaucius-in Lithuania and later called
Konigsberg and now Kaliningrad). In 1925 he bought the harp, which was a
second hand one. In 1944, together with retreating Germans, he left
Lithuania for Germany, leaving his harp in Tilze. Russians who occupied the
territory offered empty houses to their people who were invited to come and
stay there. A former officer stayed in Vydunas' house. After some time, he
left Kaliningrad for Tallin and took the harp with him. But neither he nor
his children knew how to play it and the harp was kept in a closet of their
house. Once, the house was on fire and, by a miracle, the fire stopped at
the very place where the harp was kept. Lithuanian ethnographers traced the
harp and took it back from the officer (for several bottles of vodka). In
1988, the harp was taken to Lithuania and placed in the Vydunas museum in
the townlet of Kintai where it is at the present time. It is in poor shape
but the value of the harp for Lithuania is the same as a Stradivarius. The
inscriptions on the harp are:
FREDERICK GROSIEN SABO SQUARE LONDON 1946.
My landlord apparently gives tours of this museum. I cannot understand the
inscriptions, unless some attempt at fixing it was made in the 1940's.

Dear Françoise I just called my cousin who owns this harp and she says there are 44 strings There are no angels or winged maidens on it, the "highest part" of it is a crown (this is the bit that goes over the shoulder I believe - I know absolutely NOTHING about harps or music either) and this is roughly where the engraving is. Next time I go to Millau I can ask if I can take a photo and send it to you if this helps ? I can just explain how she has this instrument : Her father (born 1881 Montpellier, France) made pianos (Pianos Calazel) and she inherited this from him, although she does not know where it came from in the beginning. She only knows he never wanted her or her brothers/sisters to touch it alothough all were piano players (theachers) I will now try to see clear in the MASSIVE amount of information you have been kind enough to send me..... When you leave for Lithuania will you be able to keep in contact ? so I can send the photo ? rosemary.calazel@wanadoo.fr is my email if this is of any help..... I'm afraid I'm new to these forums and don't really quite understand how it works (I hope you get my answer !!) I will try to et back to you when I have understood all the texte. I now need to know WHERE this Grosjean originated from and whether he was from Montpellier for example....
Many many thanks Rosemary
